A song of Ice and Fire

In my opinion, reading is one of the most important things in people's life. Why do I say that? Today, people spend a lot of time reading on social networking sites; but sometimes everybody needs to get away from the daily routine and we start watching television, reading or doing some sport. This was the reason why I started reading George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire. A very famous Tv series was inspired on this books and is called Game of Thrones.

A Song of Ice and Fire is an unfinished series of epic fantasy novels which take place on the fictional continents Westeros and Essos. The most surprising thing, and the reason why it caught my attention, is that the characters are not only good or only bad, they are persons with good qualities and bad qualities at the same time. That makes the novels seem more realistic.

I could say that epic fantasy novels are my favourite genre because I usually read this kind of books. I love stories with magicians and dragons. I read another series of this genre like Discworld written by Terry Pratchett, which it's funnier than A song of Ice and Fire.
